Footprint Map Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
Summary
Footprint Map: Travel Journal is designed as a personal travel journal. The app helps you save travel footprints, notes, photos, tickets, souvenirs, wishlist destinations, and country passport covers.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use advertising networks. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Data You Save in the App
Travel footprints, notes, wishlist items, trips, tickets, stickers, souvenirs, and imported photos are stored on your device using Apple system storage. The developer does not operate a user account system or a custom server for these journal records.
Photos
When you choose photos manually, the app uses Apple's photo picker and receives only the photos you select.
If you use photo import features, the app may request photo library access to read photo dates and location metadata on your device so it can suggest travel footprints. The library scan and trip clustering happen on-device. Photos and photo metadata are not sold or used for advertising.
Optional AI Artwork
When you choose a photo for AI-polished magnets, tickets, or souvenirs and save that item, the selected image and the destination text shown in the editor are sent through the developer's rendering service to OpenAI to create the requested artwork. Other photos in your library are not uploaded as part of this feature.
This information is used to provide the requested image-generation feature, not for advertising or cross-app tracking. Do not submit images or text that you do not have permission to process.
Location and Maps
When you add or view footprints, the app may use location coordinates, place names, Apple services, and Mapbox map services to display maps and place travel records.
Companion Distance is an optional feature that remains off until you enable it. When enabled, the app periodically sends your current coordinates, chosen display name, and update time to Apple CloudKit so the person using your shared pairing code can see the latest distance in the app and widget. Background location is requested separately and is not required for foreground updates.
Companion location records expire after six hours. When you turn the feature off or change your pairing code or side, the app requests deletion of the previous published record. Widgets show periodic snapshots rather than continuous second-by-second tracking.
Purchases and Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. The app uses RevenueCat to manage purchase status and Pro entitlement access. RevenueCat may process purchase-related identifiers and subscription status needed to provide purchase functionality.
Third-Party Services
The app may use Apple system services including CloudKit, Mapbox, RevenueCat, and OpenAI to provide optional location sharing, maps, purchases, and optional AI artwork. These services process data according to their own privacy practices.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
